The LMP Thunderbolt 3 cable (passive) provides data transfer rates of up 20 Gbps and takes advantage of the Thunderbolt technology by supporting a broad variety of protocols: Thunderbolt, USB (USB 3.1 Gen 1/USB 3.0, 2.0, 1.1), DisplayPort 1.2 (DP Altmode), PCI Express 3.0 (PCIe) as well as 10G Ethernet data transfer (further adapters may be needed). Furthermore, it is capable of supplying power from or to devices with up to 100W (5A 20A).
Compared to the active Thunderbolt 3 cable, the passive cable is capable of reaching data transfer rates of up to 20 Gbps over a distance of up to to 2m (copper cable). It is lower in price and can do the job when transfer rates are not the top priority.
The Thunderbolt 3 enabled computer features a USB-C port with a Thunderbolt icon (lightning bolt next to the port). You should consult your computers tech specs to make sure that it is fully Thunderbolt 3 compatible.
